ZAM 3D fits into the Designer-side workflow by complimenting Microsoft Expression Blend. The designer uses ZAM 3D to easily create 3D interface elements, models, controls, styles or layouts, exporting them to XAML markup with a single click without any need to write, or even understand the complex markup that goes into building a WPF 3D scene.
Easily create 3D user interface (UI) elements, models, controls, styles, layouts, and animations with ZAM 3D.
Export the 3D model to XAML declaritive markup with a single click, eliminating the need to hand code the geometry, lights, cameras and animation that make up the scene.
Import the 3D XAML file into Microsoft Expression Blend and composite 2D data, images or video tothe 3D element. Then use MS Visual Studio 2005 to code interactive and powerful functionality.
Deploy rich and engaging next generation applications that vastly improve user experiences.
The .NET 3.0 and WPF ecosystem separates the interface design and the application logic, enabling designers to focus on creating truly intuitive UIs using the versatile XAML declarative markup language. These XAML files can then be leveraged by a developer through powerful coding and data binding to create interactive, next -generation applications. This combination of design-driven interface development with robust application logic will provide the high-fidelity user experiences developers and designers have been seeking for years.
ZAM 3D to Microsoft Expression Blend Workflow Example
1) Build your 3D Model / Scene
ZAM 3D is a full feature 3D modeling and animation application that allows you to create 3D models from basic primitive objects, and edit the object mesh for complete control. Additionally, you can import 3D models created in other 3D applications in the .3ds and .dxf file formats. You can also import 2D vector artwork (like logos) such as Adobe Illustrator and EPS files for extrusion, beveling and animating in 3D.
2) Export to XAML
When your 3D scene or model is just right, choose 'FILE | EXPORT' and instantly create a 3D XAML file.
3) Integrate the ZAM 3D XAML file into your applications Integrate the ZAM 3D XAML markup into Microsoft Visual Stuido 2005 or Microsoft Expression Blend to create compelling 3D product visualization applications, 3D user interface components, 3D data visualizations, or 3D themed icons to renforce your program controls function.
Application Example
Fabrikam Configurator Demo Application The Fabrikam configuration sample application below is a .NET 3.0 based rich 3D product visualization purchasing system. It represents how users can interact with a 3D product (in real time), customize and configure it with different colors schemes, and can add accessories (also viewed in 3D). Through this demo, you can begin to realize the power that 3D product visualization provides the customer before making a purchase decision, and to the vendor by providing a rich user experience.
