  Swift 3D v4 Feature Preview #10 – Hardware Acceleration

Swift 3D v4 now allows users to turn on hardware acceleration for lightning fast viewport action. When working with large models or complex scenes, the accelerated viewport updates become an invaluable "behind the scenes" addition.

Don’t forget to check back for Feature #11!

Does this mean that of you have a phat graphics card that swift now can draw on the display power of it?

This and all of the other feature previews are really, really cool and exciting...Now that advanced modeling and hardware acceleration have been revealed, the last features I'm hoping to see previewed is grid snap on/off and copy and paste support in the extrusion and lathe editors! I'm crossing my fingers. But great job Erain! I can't wait for the release date!

Original: Yes, the graphics card will be put to use by Swift 3D so that the viewport redraw will be faster.

Can I assume that the Mac version will have similar acceleration (through Quartz)?

Yes, from what I've heard the Mac Open GL will be used for acceleration.
